The Jersey Chamber Weekly Update

The week has flown by and weekend beckons, so I won’t keep you long, I sense that we are all keen to get there. Looking back at the week, for Chamber plenty of meetings and events such our October Chamber Lunch, with Sir Stephen Dalton, now the Chair of ArtHouse Jersey, giving those in business plenty of good reasons to be investing and involving themselves with the local arts and culture offering, which as we learnt is good for employees, businesses and the island. |

If I add in the Lieutenant Governor Charity Boxing night, the excellent geopolitical discussion hosted by Amicus, with the Lieutenant Governor & General Sir Peter Wall, and the inspirational speaker Hari Budha Magar at the Gurka Welfare Trust 10th Anniversary event and a plethora of other events, it’s a wonder how some managed to get to the office or get a home life this week. Talking of events, our last two Chamber lunches of the year are now on sale. If you’ve ever wondered who checks that we get good value out of our Public Service and who holds them to account Well wonder no more… On November 6th the Comptroller & Auditor will be our speaker… and then the Christmas Lunch on December 4th with the now ‘traditional’ (it’s only the second year) side-ways irreverent look at 2024, some fun survey questions and festive cheer. An ideal and very good value way to take the team & clients out. Individual tickets and tables of 10 are available, but get a wiggle on! Finally, a long awaited addition to the membership benefits - the Jobs page on our website is in the words of Ant & Dec - nooooow open! | THIS YEAR CHAMBER IS SUPPORTING KEZIA'S FUND |

As Chamber members are aware we currently supporting Kezia's Fund.
Kezia's Fund was set up to support initiatives promoting good mental health amongst children and young people in Jersey. It provides grants and support to organisations that are working to address the issue of rising rates of poor mental health.
One of the primary fundraising events for this fund is Run for Kezia, an event which attracted 800 participants last year to run or walk over the choice of 3 distances (2k, 5k, 10k). The event is being held to coincide, again, with World Suicide Prevention Day on 15 September.
We would like to encourage all members to consider signing up (it is not competitive, timed and it is not necessary to run) and to encourage their families, friends and colleagues to sign up too: Kezia's Fund
