The Jersey Chamber Weekly Update

Dear Subscriber,

Well another week and don't let that lull in the outward, front-facing Chamber that happens between events fool you, its been busy behind the scenes, as is often the way. It's that feeling similar to when you have lots of travel and meetings and then you get back to the office to get through all the real work that has backed up.

But the good news is that, other than the round of engagement with existing and new members, and the weekly round of Government engagement, it has involved some time to add details to plans for the rest of Q2 and beyond. And whilst I cannot tell you everything right now, I can say that in the events calendar we will have more 'must attend' events for the rest of the year, that will be relevant and the conversation of the island. Our June 12th Lunch will appear next week in the calendar and that would normally be followed by our July Lunch - but no...

Instead the Chamber Summer Lunch sponsored by Sure Business will be a relaxed affair with a two-course lunch on June 27th. A good opportunity to network, celebrate summer and Chamber, plus you can also take in a spectacular venue...more to follow. It will be in a marquee and you will want a corporate table or at the very least a ticket or two. All in good time my friends. The two June events will be on sale in the next week or so, and we'll naturally be shouting about it and a few other things too. Roll on summer!

Before that - the April and May lunches are getting close to sell outs, so if you need individual tickets or that table of 10 you forgot to book weeks ago - you really should get a wiggle on.

Have a great weekend.

Murray,
Flori, and Daisy,

Iconic Jersey visitor attraction welcomes exciting new future!
The Jersey War Tunnels, one of the island’s most iconic and historically significant tourist attractions, has entered an exciting new chapter.
After more than 60 years of ownership by Daisy Hill Real Estates Limited, the 29.5-acre site has been successfully sold to a new custodian committed to building upon its legacy. Following interest from several private buyers, the site was ultimately acquired by Trevellyan Operations Limited, headed by Lance Trevellyan, whose Jersey business portfolio also includes CCA Galleries International Limited and the Millbrook House Hotel project.

THIS YEAR CHAMBER IS SUPPORTING KEZIA'S FUND
image
As Chamber members are aware we currently supporting Kezia's Fund.

Kezia's Fund was set up to support initiatives promoting good mental health amongst children and young people in Jersey. It provides grants and support to organisations that are working to address the issue of rising rates of poor mental health.

One of the primary fundraising events for this fund is Run for Kezia, an event which attracted 800 participants last year to run or walk over the choice of 3 distances (2k, 5k, 10k). The event is being held to coincide, again, with World Suicide Prevention Day on 15 September.

We would like to encourage all members to consider signing up (it is not competitive, timed and it is not necessary to run) and to encourage their families, friends and colleagues to sign up too:

Thank you
