The Jersey Chamber Weekly Update
Dear Subscriber,
A sense of the past and the future.
As the busyness and business of the stop-start of May has moved us into pre-summer feeling preparations, perhaps a chance to reflect on our impending relocation to the Royal Square later this summer.
In case it had passed you by, from 1821, the headquarters of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce were in the Royal Square. The property was gifted to Chamber at that time, and we remained there for 180 years until the move to Pier Road in 2001.
Well as of mid-May, we are back in our building, right next to the States Assembly, and we are pretty excited about the move both in terms of our heritage and our future plans.
The short process took over a year from first discussions to completion and there are various players who made it so. Thank you to Cherry Godfrey, NatWest International, Le Gallais & Luce, Queree Properties and Wills & Co. All valued Chamber members.
The build was once the home of diarist Jean Chevalier and housed the Perrot's printing works and the offices of La Chronique de Jersey.
