Deputy Kirsten Morel has served as Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, since July 2022, prior to this he served as Assistant Minister in the same portfolio for two years.
Deputy Morel was born and educated in Jersey and studied French and English at Birmingham University. Before entering the States Assembly in 2018, he led a successful career in writing and PR with a particular focus on technology and finance.
Within the States Assembly, Deputy Morel serves as a representative for the Parishes of St. John, St Lawrence and Trinity and is a member of both the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonie.

Paul Murphy is the CEO of Jersey Business, a business support agency who provide independent, confidential advice and support to businesses in Jersey, across all sectors and at all stages of the lifecycle. Jersey Business plays a leading role in creating a thriving and productive economy in which businesses impact positively on their stakeholders and on the island’s long-term sustainability.

Murray brings extensive experience in business, media, and politics to his role as Chief Executive. He has owned businesses, presented for the BBC, hosted TV shows internationally, and served as an Assistant Minister in Jersey’s government.

As Deputy for St Brelade and Assistant Minister (2014-2018), he managed key sectors and participated in several committees. His diverse background helps him represent Members’ interests, promote trade, and enhance the Island’s prosperity. Additionally, he has raised millions for local charities and has organised major events in Jersey.
